We are looking for a qualified and highly motivated person with a high commitment to be placed in Medan as Sustainability Senior Manager.
Summary:
This position will be responsible for driving the Environment, Sustainability and Governance (ESG) in all pacific group companies in Indonesia in alignment with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). This position will report directly to Managing Director in Corporate office Jakarta.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, ESG, Environmental Science, Business, Finance, Law, Economics.
- Min 10-15 years of experience in ESG, risk and/or sustainability at Manager or Senior Manager level is a must.
- Have a good leadership skills.
- Prior experience in ESG risk, in palm oil, legal, analytics or other professional services firms highly preferred.
- Experience in setting up ESG function for a large organization preferred.
- A risk background with a passion driving ESG initiatives.
- Good understanding of risk management and credit risk issues.
- Demonstrated proactive in driving change, influencing and reporting to management.
- Experience in understanding the operational drivers of a business and how they relate to the financial drivers of the business.
- Excellent research and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good understanding and interest of current trends in Indonesia ESG, climate and sustainability.
- Track record of partnering with external organisations and associations prominent in the ESG.
- Previous experience in ESG policy and engagement work is advantageous.
- Experience in developing solutions and development of systems and processes relating to sustainability advantageous.
- Good communication in English (Speaking and Writing) is a MUST
Responsibilities:
- Articulate an ESG strategy that it is directly tied to the business' strategies and goals.
- Fine tune and execute corporate sustainability initiatives and strategies.
- Improvise and execute an overall program management and change management strategy related to business initiatives/processes.
- Develop annual and long-term ESG goals in line with UN Sustainable Development Goals.
- Creates policies, guidelines related to sustainability programs affecting the environment, health, and safety of the organization.
- Engages with internal stakeholders and presenting regular sustainability reports and conduct sustainability assessments.
- Manage the due diligence on all business unit's Sustainability Policies.
- Support the Management in the development and execution of sustainability initiatives.
- Develop a deep understanding of the ESG issues within the global Palm Oil sector and effectively communicate insights to internal teams and the business community.
- Create a framework to embed ESG metrics in credit risk assessments within the banking and finance sectors.
- Identify and establish how “Right Ship” integrates and reports on ESG factors including impact considerations.
- Forge partnerships with customers and strategic partners (industry regulators, industry bodies, government agencies, think tanks, and tertiary institutions, NGOs etc.) to advance the sustainability agenda.
- Partner with the commercial team to understand customers' sustainability requirements and develop solutions to accelerate business growth.
- Responsible for the planning, coordination and execution ESG outreach and engagement with industry players.
- Work collaboratively with a diverse team across multiple locations to conduct analysis and ensure the quality of insights.
- Develop product-related content (white papers, brochures, documents) relevant to regional markets and segments.
