Technical Superintendent

Requirements:

• Minimum bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture, Naval Engineering, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering
• The educational background of ATT are welcome.
• Minimum 5 years as Technical Superintendent of Shipping Company, preferably handling tanker vessels.
• Willing to travel
• Required Knowledge and Skill(s): International conventional regulation, ship management, internal audit, ISM Code, ISPS Code, basic safety, tanker familiarization, IACS requirement for docking, intermediate/special survey scope, CAP, Microsoft Office, and computer literacy.
• Have achievement orientation, customer service orientation, continuous improvement, interpersonal relationships, being proactive, being able to analyze issues and use sound judgment, planning and organizing, concern for order, an orientation to detail, working efficiently, and coordination.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the fleet in technical operation and docking.
• Ship management roles
• Ensuring that safety and pollution control are priorities becomes part of all aspects of shipboard management.
• Maintaining the vessel’s condition and performance
• Vessel’s docking supervision
• Monitoring and establishing reasons for excessive or unusual wear and tear and developing means to control or rectify same
• Monitoring survey cycles, statutory survey requirements, and carrying out important surveys physically onboard.
• Planning regular and special surveys, repairs, and dry docking in advance with maximum time and cost benefits for each vessel
• Basically, all docking for all vessels is to be attended to by docking team.
• Monitoring and reviewing vessels under the technical
• Providing detailed operating budgets for maintenance dry-docking and special survey
• Initiating follow-up action where possible to contain costs within budgeted parameters
• Maintaining current data on costs obtained from various sources in cooperation with the procurement department
• Controlling volume, preparing specifications for repairs given to outside workshops or repair shops, and organizing supplies of repair equipment
• Providing feedback on purchases and encouraging ship staff to tackle the same onboard
• drawing the timely attention of principals to areas where costs might be expected and which are additional to the budget.
• Reducing costs by motivating the ship’s staff and improving cost awareness by regularly advising them on cost of stores and spares ordered
• Maintaining validity of class, international, national, and specific certificates
• Keeping up to date on requirements, changes in statute, class development and other regulations
• Reviewing docking repair specifications prior to submitting them to shipyard to prepare docking cost comparisons.
• Monitoring costs during ship docking, coordinating timely with shipyard commercials to get the final cost, and submitting to cost control related to the down payment prior to vessel undocking.
• Collecting docking report and documents required by related parties, Classification on docking completion.
• Record all docking repair specifications, work done reports, and billings for future reference.
• Regularly download and update Ship’s Class Status
• Send and archive lube-oil analysis.
• Send and archive bunker analysis.
• Reporting docking progress on a regular basis
