Responsibilities :
- Monitoring assigned vessels' technical operation and maintenance
- Monitoring survey cycles, statutory survey requirements, and carrying out essential surveys physically onboard.
- Providing detailed operation budgets for maintenance dry-docking and particular surveys initiating follow-up action where possible, to contain costs, within budgeted parameters.
- Maintaining current data on costs obtained from various sources, in cooperation with the Procurement department.
- Ensuring the technical parts of assigned vessels are managed according to the management agreement requirement.
- Liaise with crew on technical matters including giving advocacy, monitoring maintenance and repair progress, and ensuring spare parts availability.
- Attending to vessel dry docking, repairs, and survey
- Determining repair specifications for dry docking and maintenance
- Compiling documented reports and providing reports to management and vessel owners
- Performing technical compliance audits and investigations on defects/failures regularly
- Preparing monthly reports on the vessel's budgeted and actual expenditure and submitting/reporting to the Technical Manager on schedule.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Naval Architecture/ Mechanical Engineering and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a similar position.
- Preferably have Marine Engineering Class I (ATT I)
- Possess relevant sea-going work experience as Chief Engineer/Marine Engineer with experience in dry-bulk /general cargo/container vessels.
- Independent and resourceful.
- Analytical and highly proactive in technical troubleshooting and problem-solving
- Required skills; Ship management, International Convention Regulation, ISM Code, ISPS Code
- Able to conduct effective stand-up training for vessel crews
- Placement in Jakarta and able to travel within short notice as required
