Job Description Summary
The Materials Manager will be accountable to lead, manage, and monitor inventory levels, warehousing and storage of raw materials. The Materials Manager will also ensure the appropriate supply of raw materials and service to support production to meet customer demand.Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Supervise daily Warehouse activities, including quality assurance, inventory control, space management, logistics, productivity, shipping, and customer service.
- Work towards business and department KPI’s (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and People), utilizing and maximizing available storage space whilst achieving the businesses target for inventory turns.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing standards and procedures and by complying with legal regulations,
- Provide overall responsibility to ensure materials are available for the site to enable continuous production operation.
- Forefront material forecasting and perform monitoring and evaluation to ensure its accuracy,
- Reviewing material shortage risks and/or issues against the production schedule, working with procurement to mitigate problems, and flagging to other stakeholders, as necessary.
- Ensure stock accuracy by coordinating cycle counting process.
- Take the lead on material variances, investigate, and resolve as appropriate using 8D methodologies.
- C onduct daily meeting with warehouse employees to analyse Key Performance Indicators, which includes Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and People.
- Train and manage the warehouse team to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short- and long-term performance goals,
- Review and manage Overtime, shift and staffing requirements on a weekly basis. Ensure sufficient cover during employee absence.
- Provide leadership and coaching for warehouse operators, monitoring their performance on aspects such as attendance, self-audits, disciplinary, efficiency, etc.,
- Drive improvements in raw materials flow and warehousing which adheres to lean manufacturing and supply chain principles to improve the status quo,
- Collaborate with different functions such as IT, sourcing, finance, planner, operations and maintenance to drive systemic improvement,
- Engaging in Lean Initiatives and AWO (Action Work Out).
Required Qualifications
- A Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business/Management, or Engineering from a local or internationally reputable university
- At least 5-years work experience on supply chain or inventory planning in relevant industry, with experience in supervise operational functions are preferred
- Familiarity with supply chain and inventory management systems
- Experienced in continuous improvement concept and its implementation in warehouse/production setting.
- Experienced in leading teams and delivering business results.
- At least intermediate level of active English (daily contact with foreign colleagues) is required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint),
- Familiarity with SAP ERP is a plus, and
- Willing to stay in Bandung.
