- Accountable to the Project Manager (PM) to deliver his/her defined scope on the project on time, to budget and with the required quality
- May have a specific geographical (Area) project management responsibility and/or specific process or utility (System) responsibility
- Liaises with and supports Engineering Management to assist in effective engineering planning, engineering execution and resource management for all engineering matters
- Accountable to deliver their complete Areas, Systems and associated Equipment Packages on time and budget (i.e. with minimum CO), according to project objectives
- Project manages and coordinates their work scope across all functions and during all phases of project execution from project kick-off though EPC, commissioning and hand-over
- Responsible to implement the applicable corporate and Project Management (PM) QMS procedures on the project
- Review and comment of the relevant engineering handover documents and assist the PEM in clarifying any queries with the proposal team
- Support the PEM in planning all project activities and ensure they are in line with project requirements and objectives
- Support the PEM in preparation and set-up of the engineering organization in line with project requirements and objectives
- Support the PEM to prepare and manage the engineering deliverables list
- Input to, follow and ensure implementation the Engineering Execution Plan and Project Engineering Strategies, Schedules etc. within the project team
- Ensure the appropriate input to the Project Engineering reports, is provided as applicable, in line with PM directions and project requirements
- Support the PEM to prepare and manage the engineering software and tools utilized on the project
- Monitor the work of the Project Engineering team and ensure appropriate alignment and integration with other project activities and priorities
- Supports the PEM (and PPM) and coordinates engineering activities from RFQ through to PO placement, expediting and delivery to site
- Liaises with Engineering Management, and Lead Discipline Engineers, to highlight and inform on relevant technical issues arising
- Coordinates and manages tasks, and leads issue resolution across project functional teams (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning, QAQC, Operations, etc..)
- Identifies and manages design issues related to physical interfaces between Areas and Systems across all engineering disciplines
- May attend and participate in the weekly Project Engineering meeting, ensuring that actions are followed-up and expeditiously closed-out within his/her areas of responsibility
- Liaise with other TPEC project teams on EPC project issues to share learning experience and avoid repeat of problems experienced
- Bachelor Degree in Science or Engineering with secondary qualification/training in Project Management or Cost Control
- Membership of PMI or equivalent preferable
- At least ten (10) years’ rounded experience of EPC capital projects in the energy, resource or similar construction industries.
- At least five (5) years of Project Engineering or project management execution experience on EPC projects.
- Involvement in at least 3 EPC projects as senior/lead engineer, Project Engineer or similar.
- Experience in leading or supporting preparation of project proposals
