Job description :
Carry out design tasks under the supervision of a senior engineer.
Review geotechnical reports
Develop geometry required for HDD plans and profiles
Complete design calculations for plastic and steel pipe installations including hydrofracture evaluations, pull loads and stresses, operating stresses, unconstrained buckling, railroad and highway loading, etc.
Assist in preparing design reports
Assist in developing risk registers
Attend meetings
Perform construction monitoring during HDD construction

Qualification :
A bachelor’s degree in engineering
Good understanding of geotechnical behaviors for soil and bedrock
2+ years of experience in HDD engineering design experience in one or more of the following project types: natural gas pipeline, facilities, liquids, transmission, gathering, midstream and treatment
Ability to attain a P.E. license is required
Possess sound judgment; highly developed management, organizational, interpersonal, presentation/training, oral and written communication skills; excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in some of the following areas : HDD feasibility, reporting, geotechnical investigations, soil borings/sampling, laboratory testing parameters, conceptual and detailed design, design and construction specifications, field workspace and logistical requirements, constructability, and construction inspection
Experience with Direct Pipe designs a plus
Demonstrated ability to coordinate and work with multi-disciplinary teams; and, deal with complex issues and maintain effective working relationships
