Established in 2003, Star Energy Geothermal is Indonesia's largest geothermal energy producer and a leading clean energy company. Strategy and Planning (S&P) division was setup in 2019 to spearhead the company's efforts in realizing growth, crafting strategy, and creating the foundation for process excellence. Over the past few years, we have played a central role in developing Salak Binary plant, exploring acquisition targets, realizing cost savings, and growing new business in green credits.

S&P consists of three departments i.e. Strategic Planning and Business Development, Process Excellence, Strategic Projects. We are inviting you to apply to be part of the Star Energy Geothermal's S&P team.

Description

Deputy Head for Business Development is responsible to drive the organization's Business Development strategies, improve the current renewable portfolio organically or inorganically, explore new business opportunities, and carry out business strategies that are in line with organizational objectives. This role reports to the Head of Strategic Planning and Business Development (SPBD). Two to three business analyst positions report to this role.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple Business Development projects by completing and updating project documentation; managing project scope; adjusting schedules when necessary; determining daily priorities; ensuring efficient and on-time delivery of project tasks and milestones; following proper escalation paths; and managing stakeholder relationships.
  • Design and conduct market and company research, including primary and secondary research, in respond to the company's needs.
  • Assist with the identification and conversion of opportunities to further grow the company's business.
  • Conduct financial analysis including the preparation of company valuation models and pricing analysis.
  • Analyze a company's financial statements to identify any accounting, financial, or commercial issues.
  • Manage projects relating to the analysis and review of financial statements, buy-side financial due diligence, vendor due diligence, financial closing reviews, financial modelling assumption reviews, and Sales and Purchase Agreements reviews.
  • Analyze complex quantitative and qualitative data in an efficient manner and synthesizing the output into meaningful and actionable insights.
  • Draft reports and findings including the preparation of tables, exhibits, and charts in a clear and easy to understand manner.
  • Communicate effectively in an organized and knowledgeable manner in written and verbal formats and being able to deliver difficult messages with persuasiveness and sensitivity.
  • Assist the Head of SPBD in building organization capability, including but not limited to:
  • Create reports for C-suite.
  • Enforce best practice methodology in problem solving and Business Development.
  • Design curriculum and organize training/sharing sessions to build Business Development skill.
  • Recruit, develop, and grow talents in Business Development.

General requirements

  • At minimum, a bachelor's degree (in Business/Finance/Accounting/Industrial Engineering or any other relevant disciplines) from a top-tier university with consistent outstanding academic record
  • Advanced degree (e.g. MBA) and/or a professional qualification (e.g. CFA, CPA, CMA) is preferred.
  • 8+ years of relevant business management or consulting experience in a reputable company. Example of relevant areas: Business Development, equity research, mergers and acquisitions, investment banking, strategy consulting, transaction services.
  • Proven record of high performance and substantial achievements in past positions
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated leadership ability in working cross function and developing team members.
  • Excellent project management skill, including developing a project plan, schedule, dependency identification, status reporting, and issue resolution.
  • Excellent written communications: able to write clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles and get messages across that have the desired effect.
  • Excellent presentation skills: effective in a variety of formal presentation settings and can present to an internal as well as external audience.
  • Excellent facilitation skills: ability to organize, plan and facilitate meetings on problem solving and decision making.
