We are seeking a passionate and experienced Sous Chef - Chinese Specialty with creative flair to join our culinary team.
As our next Sous Chef reporting directly to the Executive Chef / Executive Sous Chef you will:
- Run Chinese section of the kitchen, ensuring service is smooth as well as assist with other sections if they require help
- Ensure the consistency in delivery of high quality product and service—including a la carte dining, breakfast, lunch and dinner with the addition of in-room service and some catering for functions at our onsite conferencing facilities.
- Actively share ideas, opinions and suggestions to improve the environment and menus.
- Control the pass when required and ensure food costs are kept within the budget along with managing labour costs
- Maintain strong time management skills and the ability to work well in high business level.
- Be diligent and adhere to local regulations concerning health, safety, or other compliance requirements & will have an understanding of HACCP management
Work Experience
- Expert and passionate in authentic Chinese cuisine
- 4 years’ experience in the same position in Chinese Fine-Dining Restaurant in Indonesia
- Diploma / Bachelor Degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major.
- Fluent in English and Bahasa speaking; additional Chinese speaking is advantage
- Good communication skill, team player, leaderships, menu planning and design and developing others
- Be well versed in food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP)
