Job Description
Develop and implement costing strategies and policies to optimise production costs and maximise profitability.Conduct regular cost analysis and cost variance assessments to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.Manage the costing process for all products manufactured, ensuring accuracy and consistency in cost calculations.Collaborate with production teams to establish standard costs for materials, labor, and overheads.Monitor inventory valuation methods and ensure compliance with accounting standards.Review and analyse manufacturing processes to streamline operations and reduce production costs.Prepare and present cost reports and analysis to senior management to support decision-making.Lead cross-functional teams in cost reduction initiatives and continuous improvement projects.Oversee the budgeting process for manufacturing costs and track actual performance against budgeted targets.Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in costing and recommend changes or adjustments to enhance efficiency and competitiveness. The Successful Applicant A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, with relevant certifications or advanced degrees considered a plus.8+ years of extensive experience in cost accounting and costing methodologies within the manufacturing industry.Strong analytic skills with the ability to interpret complex data and identify cost-saving opportunities.Proficiency in using cost accounting software and ERP systems, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present findings to senior management.Proven leadership abilities to lead and motivate teams, drive process improvements, and implement cost-saving initiatives.A strategic mindset with the ability to develop and implement costing strategies aligned with business objectives.Adaptability and resilience to thrive in a dynamic manufacturing environment with evolving priorities and challenges.A proactive approach to continuous learning and staying updated on industry trends and best practices in costing and manufacturing processes.
